A special thank you to my friend Jim for some great swim tips on Saturday a.m.

After a little bike ride to the YMCA Saturday morning, I started my swim work out and after a couple laps without the float between my legs and practicing more of a straight leg kick, I was beat and could not keep my stroke consistent. I was luck to have a friend who actually does the full blown Triathlons and other various hard core events. This is the same Jim that did the swim portion of the tri fundraiser we did for Chris last year. He told me that I needed to work some more on my stroke (he was being very nice to even call it a stroke ;o). I need to not extend my arm all the way down, adjust my push from my elbow while bringing my hand up next to my hip, stretch for the reach portion, go slower to work on form and keep my head down. It is better to do this with out kicking so I do not get them all so messed up I drown (and can really focus on trying to do them correctly).

Jim took time out of his busy training schedule ( he is getting ready for Ford Ironman USA Lake Placid and then on to Ironman Wisconsin) to give a few pointers - that means a lot.
I cannot say how much I appreciate my friends and the help they offer on this journey.

Thank you all so much.
